1) Q.O.N : Hey annie, how are you today ?
annie hardy : hi, I’m doing alright, thanks for asking. my interns are here and we are just doing some ebaying and other work (and when i say “we” i mean “the interns”, i’m obviously busy doing this interview.)
2)How did you get your start in music ?
i started playing & writing real songs when i was 15 in boarding school. i tried in vain to put together bands with girls and a few dudes for the next 5 years until i met micah and he started recording my songs for me and we would jam together and just have fun until one day my friend Max from The Adored asked me to open for them and i said yes and forced micah into the slavery that became giant drag. the rest is google-able history.

4)What are your upcoming projects ?
I’m about to put a 4 song EP out and then hopefully start recording the second album finally.
5)Do you feel like you have a specific sort of fanbase yet, or do they seem to be pretty varied?
my fanbase seems to be based in Europe, especially in the UK. this is based on ebay sales, i’d say 3/4 of the big spenders/winners are in the UK. its hard to tell your fanbase when people download your music and you can’t see figures on soundscan.
6)Can you tell us a funny story about you, like a secret passion or an amusing anecdote?
one time i killed a man just to watch him die.
7)What do you listen to these days ?
when i’m working on an album i try not to listen to too much music because it will influence me without me even knowing it so i watch tv instead. i love me some television.
8 )What do you think of the current music scene and the music business?
it’s fucked. the music business is taking it’s final breaths and everything is changing and becoming more internet-based. i personally think it’s sad, kids don’t appreciate the experience of shopping for records and looking at the artwork and have a physical piece of art. now music is something that comes out of your iphone. sad.
